BORO at Cowra Japanese Gardens CANCELLED

Leanne’s BORO Exhibition & Artist in Residency scheduled for May at Cowra Japanese Gardens has been cancelled due to COVID-19.  Boro Stitching classes scheduled for the final day of the exhibition have also been cancelled.  Cowra is in regional NSW a 2-hour drive from Canberra.
The Japanese word boro literally means rags – at one time in Japan when fabric was precious and never discarded, old cloth was repaired & stitched together to make new items for every-day use.
In this half day class we will learn how to stitch  recycled cloth to give them new life in this traditional Japanese way.  All materials will be provided including vintage kimono cloth with Japanese threads, needles and thimble.
