BORO - The Japanese Slow Stitch 26 January
The Japanese word boro literally means rags – at one time in Japan when fabric was precious and never discarded, old cloth was repaired & stitched together to make new items for every-day use.
Join our class at Abbotsford Convent to learn how to stitch, mend & quilt layers of recycled cloth and give them new life in the traditional Japanese way. All materials will be provided including vintage kimono cloth with Japanese threads, needles and thimble. After lunch at one of the Abbotsford Convent cafes continue hand-stitching at your own pace in the afternoon. Class Fee includes all materials.
